As I enter the final few weeks of my final year project, I feel that I must be becoming even more aware of the issue that I am trying to address. On the news or facebook every week, I am witnessing reports of animal mistreatment, abandonment or surrender. It saddens me to hear of the struggles that rescue shelters are facing each day. It makes me even more emotional when I think of the innocent animals on the receiving end of this.

Unfortunately, this incident has occurred in a town in my own county. I don’t understand how people can be so cruel.

There has also been a lot of news reports recently interviewing shelter workers. I think that the work they do is tremendous and they do not get enough credit for it. I hope that by even presenting my idea, it will make people more conscious of the fact that this is a crisis, where a lot of animals are suffering. Happy Tales is a talking point which should highlight dogs and rescuers who need the help of communities.
