My initial project idea is to create an app which helps prospective dog owners find their ideal canine companion, with the hope of advocating that they will find one in a shelter.
The overall purpose is to reduce the number of dogs ending up in shelters by ensuring owners are ready for a dog and that the dog they choose, suits them, their lifestyle and future plans etc.

Going forward, I am feeling so excited about this project and can’t wait to get stuck in. It is something that I feel could make a real difference to many people and of course, dog’s lives.
I carried out a SWOT analysis of my idea, to help me get a clearer vision of the strengths and weaknesses that I am working with. With any project, there are challenges and barriers that I will have to overcome. However, this is made much easier when you can recognise them and can play to your strengths. This is the template I used to complete my SWOT analysis, as it highlighted some great points.
