Dog shelters do a lot of tireless work, with low funding. Unfortunately, they are often overlooked or forgotten about. To try and find out how they advertise their work and dogs in the care, I looked into both their websites and social media accounts.

This FigJam board explores the social media platforms of a few dog shelters. I included both larger, well-known shelters and smaller, local shelters. The smaller shelters struggle a lot more to stay consistent with their socials. I also find that over-saturation of posts can be overbearing for some people. This could lead to people becoming frustrated with pages and just discarding them entirely. I found this exercise very useful and feel like it has highlighted the importance of consistent branding.

Here is the FigJam board where I have analysed the process Battersea and DogsTrust follow when people are applying to adopt online. Battersea uses an account creation which includes questions that will help the workers in the shelter, find a dog that would be a good match for them.

I will definitely be doing a questionnaire as such during the onboarding process.
