I spent quite a bit of time navigating through various dog shelter’s social media accounts. The likes of Dogs Trust and Battersea have very strong social media presence, which helps to promote the animals and help them be rehomed.

Through the analysis of the socials, I have found that there are some great qualities that I could implement into my work:
- Promoting animals and giving them a profile based on their personality
- Advertising events which are happening in dog shelters etc.
- Strong branding consistency - leads to a trustworthy user experience
- Building a brand voice and having a platform to show it off
- Reaching a broader community
Negative aspects of social media that I would like to avoid:
- Inconsistencies - the only way this would work is if you kept it up-to-date & active
- People may see posts for one second and then forget.
- Too much content - overwhelmed
- Cruel commenting & misconceptions of intentions
